Looking to add a splash of colour and creativity to your day?

One Holland Village mall has just the thing! The mall has been transformed into a dynamic playground of inspiration, and you are invited to explore it.

The adventure begins with the newly unveiled Singapore Sun by famed artist Dale Chihuly, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Throughout the mall are seven stunning art installations and eight playful public art benches waiting to be discovered. Each one is a gem, turning the mall into a vibrant quest for beauty, culture and inspiration.

The brightest star is the Singapore Sun located at the mall’s Village Green. Made up of over 1,500 hand-blown glass pieces, the artwork is a breathtaking display of colour and craftsmanship. Inspired by the beautiful sunsets that paint Singapore's sky, it reflects Chihuly's distinctive style of using glass to create monumental sculptures that play with light and colour. It’s like catching a permanent sunrise in the heart of the city!

“It was an honour to present an exhibition at Gardens by the Bay in 2021, and I’m thrilled that the Singapore Sun now has a permanent home at Holland Village,” says Chihuly.

Discover the Art Trail Adventure

Beyond the Singapore Sun, One Holland Village art trail is your passport to a world of art, featuring an eclectic mix of six other art installations and digital prints by celebrated local and international artists. Each piece is unique with its own story to tell, offering a glimpse into the minds of its creators.

Dream Love Joy by Very Small Exhibition

Take, for example, Dream Love Joy by Lee Wei Lieh – a hidden gem on the pedestrian bridge that springs to life as an interactive lighting display. Inspired by the surprise and happiness of spotting a rainbow in the sky, Lee says, “I hope visitors feel welcomed and delighted as they engage with it.” It’s a moment of joy just waiting to be discovered.

Holland Village Dreaming

Or lose yourself in Holland Village Dreaming by Ripple Root, a digital print that captures the memories of Holland Village, a time capsule that invites you to look closer and discover new details with each glance. “The artwork aims to take the viewer on a journey, allowing them to discover something new each time they look at it,” share artists Estella Ng and Liquan Liew.

Hidden Gems in Every Corner

Interlude

Interlude by Tomislav Topic

For those who love bold, abstract art, keep your eyes peeled for Interlude by German artist Tomislav Topic. His colourful installation is made of 410 lacquered steel panels in 41 colours, hidden in plain sight across the roof. “It was challenging to create a piece for Singapore’s weather conditions, but I wanted to bring a sea of colours to the Singapore sky,” says Tomislav, inviting everyone to look up and get lost in the hues.

The art trail adventure is not just about grand sculptures and installations. Along the way, you’ll find cleverly designed public art benches – functional pieces that serve as both resting spots and artistic statements. Created by home-grown designers and winners of the OHV Mill public bench design competition, these benches offer moments of rest and reflection.

A New Hub for Art and Community

These artistic works scattered around One Holland Village are more than just beautiful objects of art, but also a testament to the mall’s commitment to enriching the community’s cultural landscape. “We envision One Holland Village as a melting pot for art from all over the world,” says Deborah Tan, Far East Organization’s Director for the Retail Business Group. “Our diverse collection of artworks showcases our commitment to enriching the cultural landscape of our community and making art accessible to all.”

By integrating these world-class artworks and installations into the fabric of the mall, One Holland Village has created a vibrant space that invites everyone to participate in a cultural dialogue. It’s a treasure trove of artistic expression that enhances the everyday experience for all who come.
